ravis d'avoir séjourné dans un hutong

pas de bouteille d'eau, pas de thé, ni café alors que nous avions des tasses et une bouilloire électrique.

This hotel is an utter dump.

During a recent stay, construction was constant in this hotel. There were terrible sewage smells wafting through the courtyard. The bar and restaurant were not operational. Breakfast was in a neighboring hotel three blocks away! The walls are paper-thin, so any conversation next door sounds as though it's taking place in your own room. If the person next door likes to watch TV, then you might as well turn on the TV to the same channel and watch along because you will be listening to the program anyway. The hotel advertised a "sitting area" in the room. There was no such space. The central AC unit needed to be kept at an very low temperature in order for it to never actually hit the programmed temperature, because otherwise upon hitting the temperature, the system clicks loudly and turns off, until the temperature in the room rises above the programmed temperature and it turns back on again, clicking loudly each time. It is impossible to sleep with the AC unit clicking and turning on and off again all night. So the only solution is to set it at an uncomfortably cool temperature. The AC unit is representative of the place as a whole: it is built to the cheapest standard and is malfunctioning. This hotel misrepresents itself in its online profiles, which seem sleek and high-end. The actual property is anything but. It is equivalent to a cheap chain motel, nothing more. It is not old or authentic as advertised, but has been rebuilt in the manner of a cheap student dormitory with some very minimal design flourishes to make it seem like a hotel. A higher standard room can be obtained for the same price almost anywhere in Beijing. This property should be avoided at all costs.
The location is very central and convenient. The staff were apologetic and gracious upon hearing guests' many complaints.

Excellent little hotel located down a quaint little Hutong. Very Impressed.

The restaurant for breakfast was about a 5 minute walk away from the hotel, but a reasonably nice walk and the food was excellent, so worth the effort.
Fantastic location. Quiet, yet incredibly close to the center of Beijing and only 5 minutes walk from the nearest metro station. Very friendly staff and comfortable room. The hotel offered completely free use of a 'Handy phone', a mobile phone with VPN access allowing you to use Google maps, social media, emails etc. anywhere in China during your stay. This was a lifesaver as we'd have been lost without it.

Good budget option in a central location

Didn't see a restaurant, no facilities other than the room. Sofa bed was small and hard.
Modern, clean and newly decorated, compared well with other hutong guesthouses. Good location near a metro line

    Not very good

Location is in a small alley that under construction and cars can't come in. Rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor are really close to other buildings so its noisy and you can't open the window. Facilities in the room are bad quality.

    Excellent location

Our room was located in the ground floor and the walls seemed quite thin because there was too much noise since very early in the morning (before 6 am some days).
The location is very convenient. Close by foot to main attractions such as the Forbidden City and just 10min walking from subway. The hotel is fully renovated and the bed was comfortable.

Very nice hotel in a quite area in the middle of Beijing

The bathroom is nice and cleaned daily, but in our case after someone showered the whole bathroom was and stayed wet until they cleaned it up.
It is a great Hotel in the Hutongs of Beijing and a very good location to see a lot of the sigths by foot (if you like walking). There are also two metro stations quite close to the Hotel. The room was big and very nicely furnitured. The staff was very helpful and we even got a Chinese cellphone to use for free while staying with Wangfujing.

An OK option but not the best

There is some work being done on the property which makes a fair bit of noise and also means any breakfast option is 2 blocks away. It’s also very noisy in the courtyard all night and the location doesn’t have many restaurants around it. And hotel is off the street roughly 150m down a dark alleyway. Also the payment system they work here is crazy. They are pre-paid through booking.com (despite free cancellation) then you pay again at hotel (they cancel the first one there) and then they want 300 RMB in cash for deposit. All before you’ve even seen the room! On day 1 you’re out of pocket x2 cost of hotel (in full whilst you wait for the cancellation of pre pay to return to your bank account) and 300 RMB!
The rooms are ok but a bit small. It is located in central part of Beijing and 5 mins walk to tube station. Bathrooms are really big and both are really clean! It’s a good hotel but I’d have expected more with the price tag. Beijing is more expensive than the rest of China though. They give you a handy (like a mobile phone with roaming) that you can use for your visit and take it with you around the city. That’s a massive plus!

    such a dissapointment...

The hotel was being renovated during our stay. They didn't mention anything (even thought we were communicating with them to arrange the transport from the airport). Otherwise, we would have been cancelled our stay. I feel i have been almost scammed as they should disclose this information when booking.... We haven't been in a long holiday since last year and we were really looking forward to relax and be able to feel comfortable in the place we were staying... we reserved a loft as we thought it could be nicer, but you could hear the neighbors like we were in our room! I don't if they were fighting as they spoke Chinese but they talked so loud from 5am! I had to complain 2 times during our stay... Then once the guests got quiet, the drilling and banging of the reconstruction started! so no chance for us to have even a lay in until 10am. The day we check it, the person forgot to mention that the door had a code, so one day we had to wait for 20 min outside the hotel (late in the night) to access the hotel! There is no safe (which was an inconvenience as the hotel was having such a traffic of strangers due to the reconstruction) or a closet to hang clothes. The shower was open, so every time we shower it was like a swimming pool and there was nothing to dry the floor. One day we came around 3pm and we couldn't get to our room because it was a small scaffold blocking it, so my boyfriend had to basically climb it to get thorough. The hotel is no smoking, but people smoke in the interior patio so sometimes we could feel the smell while we were in bed (not nice as we don't smoke). They mention cable TV, but there was only Chinese channels
The location is great. It was close to the metro and if you enjoy walking, you are around 30 min. to some of the main touristic areas. The hotel borrowed us a phone which had maps and it was extremely useful.
